Magnificent teapot by a french ceramic artist, signed mf on the base. Hand-turned in white clay, with a japanese-style spout and distinctive artistic handle that sits perfectly in the hand. The lid is set with a turbulent pointed grip. The petroleum-blue paint is magnificent, and the hand-painted leaves or white butterflies are decorated in textured enamel with an intuitive, light but sure touch. The object has been used, and shows signs of use both inside and out, with small chips here and there.
