Colonna serving set designed by Giovanni Gariboldi for Ginori in the 1970s, a project that transforms serving pieces into pure, stackable volumes with perfectly balanced proportions. With the Colonna series, Gariboldi applied the principles of Italian rationalist design to the dining table, eliminating unnecessary decoration and allowing geometry, proportion, and colour to define the identity of each piece. Crafted in glazed porcelain, the set features an elegant contrast between the glossy white interior and the deep blue exterior and plate rims. The three bowls, each with the same diameter but different heights, are designed to stack into a single cylindrical volume, while the round and oval serving platters complete the ensemble with the same restrained and essential design language. The result is a composition of remarkable formal balance that perfectly represents the spirit of Italian design in the 1970s. The set includes three stackable bowls, one round serving platter, one large oval serving platter, and one small oval serving dish, creating a coherent and versatile ensemble designed to function as a harmonious whole. Condition: Good overall condition, small signs of use; one bowl shows internal yellowing from use. Dimensions: Bowls: diameter 22 cm – Height 6 / 8.5 / 10 cm. Round serving platter: diameter 28.5 cm. Large oval serving platter: 34 × 28 × H 3 cm. Small oval serving dish: 21.5 × 15.5 × H 3 cm. Ref.: C0911.
