Summer at sea is 40 X 50 X 4 centimeters, 1.5 kilos (16 X 20 X 1.6 inches ), and made from hand hewn wood on wood panel with several coats of matte gesso. From composition to the last coat of gesso, this sculptural artwork took about a month to complete. The shapes and shadows reminded me of sails and flags on boats. Being near or on the water during the summer in finland is essential to those of us who live here. This is a unique, original piece. The shadows of the dimensional shapes fall on the matte white surface depending on the position of the light source. It would look stunning in any room.
