Tobi-Ishi was designed in 2014 by the designer duo Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby for the Italian brand B&B Italia, and it has been seen in exclusive interiors around the world. The design, both simple and unique, consists of three large blocks that together form a harmonious whole. Designers Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby are very attached to Japanese culture and art, which Tobi-Ishi clearly draws inspiration from, particularly Zen. The name and concept of the table come from the round stones placed next to ornaments in Japanese Zen gardens — these stones are precisely called Tobi-Ishi."
