Roemer Crystal stemmed glasses, France color, XL

Superb set of nine Roemer glasses in multicolored double-layered crystal, French made in the 1970s. Deep and vibrant colors: cobalt blue, light blue, ruby red, dark green, anise green, and amber yellow. Some glasses are stamped Klein à Baccarat, Cristal de Paris, and Cristal de Lorraine; others have no visible mark. All nine glasses are in perfect condition: transparent, brilliant, and ringing beautifully. The double-layered crystal is entirely handmade: a clear crystal base covered with a layer of colored crystal, then cut and polished to achieve this unique contrast between transparency and color. This Roemer style, an emblem of French tableware and traditionally used for Alsatian wines, is sought after for its finesse, its history, and its incomparable brilliance.
