1850 large quilted bedspread 195 x 190 cm

Large printed quilted bedspread with tight quilting arranged in radiating fans. It bears the initials of my great-great-grandfather, born in 1827. He was a draper in Paris. Therefore, I can date this boutis to around 1850. The cover has been washed thoroughly. The white is bright. There is no yellowing. The vibrant colours have not faded. The quilting is very well preserved. On the edge of one side, a faint stain remains. A professional cleaner will likely be able to remove it. The other side is impeccable. The condition can be considered exceptional. 195 X 190 cm. White background with small floral paisley patterns in pink, orange, ochre, and black. Fabric and filling are cotton. Two different sides.
