Exceptional pair of restored Brazilian lounge chairs in excellent condition. Manufactured by Móveis Cimo, Brazil in the late 1950s. The chairs feature an organically shaped seat and backrest that seem to float over the wooden frame. The chairs have been reupholstered with high-quality wool, mohair, and long-haired alpaca fabric from Maison Pierre Frey, Paris. The frame is made of solid rosewood with a warm dark reddish colour and beautiful grain. The brutalist brass screws are a striking detail. These statement club chairs are rare and valuable icons of design, marked with a paper Cimo label. Fabric composition: 61% wool, 15% mohair, 14% alpaca, 10% polyamide. Móveis Cimo was founded in 1913 by Willy Jung and Jorge Zipperer in Rio Negrinho and was renowned for crafting and manufacturing extraordinary artistic furniture. The company ceased to exist in 1982.
