Napoleon III period secretary in black lacquered pearwood with arabesque inlays in gilded brass, mother-of-pearl and bone. Varnished finish. White marble top with light grey veins. Gilded bronze ornaments. Circa 1870. It includes 5 drawers on the front. Motifs of acanthus leaves, urn, flowers, laurel garlands in chiseled gilded brass, mother-of-pearl and engraved bone. The inside of the flap reveals a writing table in thuya burl veneer, rosewood and lemonwood fillets, boxwood with its red felt (replaced by the old damaged one). Large interior compartment in speckled maple and mahogany veneer, with 2 rows of 3 drawers in floral marquetry in lime and lemonwood. Spinning top feet. Includes its key opening all the drawers and the flap. The writing desk tablet is: l54 X p39 cm, it is stable and square. Once deployed the piece of furniture is 70 cm wide. A few tiny traces of use otherwise very good condition.
