Rare pair of seven-light candelabra designed by Gunnar Ander for Ystad Metall in Sweden in the 1950s. A very beautiful modernist composition in painted black metal, consisting of seven asymmetrical arms of varying heights. The conical cups are highlighted by a fine copper rim, creating an elegant contrast between the black and the patinated metal. The highly graphic and architectural design is characteristic of Gunnar Ander's creations for Ystad Metall. The presence of two identical pieces allows for a stunning display on a large table, console, or sideboard. Good original vintage condition with signs of use on the paint and a beautiful natural patina on the brass, showing slight oxidation in places.
