Oil painting of a Madonna

Copy of a detail of the holy family, painting by el greco kept at the prado, madrid. The character depicted here is that of the nursing virgin. The painting dates from the 1940s/50s in view of the style given to the face of the virgin. There is an illegible, and probably insignificant, signature hidden in the lower left corner of the canvas that has been slightly restyled to fit the frame. The frame, much older than the painting, gives a superb touch of authenticity to the whole.
