Magnificent buffet (or storage unit) designed by the famous French designer Marcel Gascoin for the publisher Alvéole in the 1950s. An iconic piece of the Reconstruction, this furniture perfectly embodies the modernist design of the era: functionality, purity of lines, and quality of materials. Veneered and solid oak, with original varnish finish. Very beautiful wood grain. Display cabinet with two sliding glass doors (perfect for showcasing books or decorative objects). One internal wooden shelf. Storage closed by two hinged doors with its typical original handles, an internal shelf providing ample storage space. The piece is in beautiful vintage condition. It shows some normal signs of use for its age (see detailed photos of the legs), which gives it an authentic patina. The structure is perfectly sound and stable. Height 127cm. Width 91cm.
