Impressionist oli painting by listed danish - swedish painter steen flemming (1897-1977). It was painted by the artist in 1948. The painting is hand signed and dated in the lower right corner and signed and described on the back by the artist. Made in oil technique on panel. Perfectly preserved with the original frame. Steen edvard olaus flemming, born april 15, 1897 in copenhagen, died may 13, 1977 in stensele, was a danish-swedish painter, graphic artist and architect. Flemming is represented at the statens museum for kunst in copenhagen, the moderna museet in stockholm, västerbotten's museum in umeå, jönköpings museum and prins eugens waldemarsudde in stockholm. Flemming studied at the technical school in copenhagen 1914–1918 and for harald hansen, rostrup-boyesen and aksel jørgensen at the danish academy of fine arts 1918–1922, at the same time he drew in the evenings at astrid holm's croquis school 1918–1927 and a short time at goldschmidt's painting school 1919 and during stays in paris 1931 and 1938. He settled in 1927 in stensele. He has exhibited separately several times in umeå and in copenhagen and at the artists' house in stockholm, and he has participated in group exhibitions at västerbotten museum and with the swedish general art association and västerbotten county art association. His art consists of figurative motifs, as well as forest and mountain motifs from västerbotten's lapland, as well as a few abstract compositions in oil as graphic artists, he worked with etching, lithography and woodcuts. As a conservator he has participated in the restoration of sorsele church, voijtjajaure chapel and korpilombolo church and in umnäs church in stensele parish he made decorative paintings. He was one of the initiators of the formation of västerbotten county art association in 1936. A retrospective exhibition of his art was shown at the textile museum in borås, and in the group exhibition a thousand needle sticks at norrköping art museum in 2005. In 197.
