Sculptural metal lamp, 1960s/70s
This table lamp is in the brutalist and Hollywood Regency style of the 1970s. It consists of a patinated metal structure representing stylised leaves (similar to water lilies or lotus leaves) mounted on a ceramic or stoneware base with a textured patina in the shape of a pot. The concealed light at the base highlights the brownish-golden hues of the patina. This type of sculptural lighting in cut or hammered metal strongly recalls the work of artists and design houses from that era, such as creations attributed to Henri Fernandez, François Mélin, or the spirit of Maison Jansen. However, many were produced artisanally by various European workshops during the 1970s. Condition: Used condition, good state. Electrification in working order (refurbished). Ceramic in very good condition.
