Superb blue porcelain biscuit cup decorated with a border of vine leaves and grapes in relief with "cameo" effect with an antique chariot in the center. Stamped with "wedgwood-made in england" Wedgwood, full name josiah wedgwood and sons, is a british pottery, earthenware and porcelain factory founded in may 1759, at the very beginning of the industrial revolution of the united kingdom, by josiah wedgwood and his son thomas wedgwood. The jasperware range is a world-renowned type of ceramic that was developed by josiah wedgwood from 1772. This so-called unglazed stoneware, with a matte "biscuit" finish is produced in a number of different colors, the most common and well-known of which is a pale blue known as wedgwood blue. Jasperware then consisted mainly of decorative pieces, but pieces of crockery were also produced, which were partially or completely covered with glaze executed in a neoclassical style and made by hand. This pretty piece will be perfect to add a delicate and elegant touch to your table. An excellent gift for a collector of objects of yesteryear or english ceramics! The item is sold in its juice with small imperfections and stains visible in the photos. D 11.2 cm. Bc 2023-145.
