60s drop leaf writing desk

The furniture factory h.sigh & sons mobelfabrik a/s was located in the spøttrup region (northern denmark). The factory no longer exists and not much history is known about it. A few brandmarks in 60s teak furnitures direct to this factory. A few models of the drop leaf desks have become available on the market with this brandmark. We think that this desk also comes from sigh & sons and see a very special detail on this ladies desk. It clearly dates from the 1960s and was greatly influenced by designs by, for example, braakman, where black legs became popular at that time. This desk is a rare desk with a detachable leg construction and the obvious sigh & sons production.
