Iconic desk lamp of the Bauhaus movement, the model 6556 designed by Christian Dell for Kaiser idell is a major piece of modernist design. Combining functionality and formal elegance, it perfectly illustrates the Bauhaus aesthetic: pure lines, controlled geometry, and quality craftsmanship. A trained silversmith, Christian Dell (1893–1974) began creating lighting fixtures in 1926 for Kaiser & Co. His models, known as Kaiser idell, quickly became references in German design. His work is part of the Bauhaus philosophy and the creative dialogue initiated by Walter Gropius around a design that is both rational and aesthetic. Production continued, particularly in the post-war period, contributing to the international dissemination of these now-iconic models. This example features a fully restored lacquered enamel, with a very nice surface finish: — no missing parts. — no notable marks. Electrical operation is fully functional (delivered without a bulb). A choice piece for collectors and enthusiasts of 20th-century design. Dimensions. Height: 42 cm. Reflector: Ø 20 cm. Total width with reflector: 40 cm. Steel and cast iron base: Ø 18 cm.
