Description
Absolute unique & rare find! This very rare vintage chair is produced by patrice mategot, the son of the well-known designer mathieu mategot. Mathieu mategot designed the original in 1955. Matégot used innovative techniques. He is known for his contemporary furniture designs. He was the first to combine a metal tube with a perforated plate, now known as "rigitulle". Today, mategots perforated designs are still pleasing to the eye and extremely popular. The "copabana" chair is incredibly elegant and is reminiscent of a brushstroke on canvas. Material: black painted steel with the mategot characteristic perforated back (rigitulle). The société of patrice mategot produced and marked a number of chairs in honor of his father 15-20 years ago. This is one such copy. The seat is numbered / engraved on the top. Considering its age it is absolutely in beautiful vintage condition with patina. Some traces on the metal frame and 2 visible "welds" on the back of the seat ring. Equipped with an ecru seat cushion that provides a fresh accent with the black steel. The copabana chair is such a successful design that it is now also being produced again by the danish company gubi. But for true design enthusiasts, this special and above all unique item is an absolute must-have for the interior. Definitely a timeless design. We are in love!.
