Antique wicker and wrought iron chest. Europe, 19th century. A very decorative old chest made of wicker and wrought iron. Beautifully aged. Large simple design with a primitive locking mechanism - a patinated wrought iron rod and two wicker straps. A magnificent piece with a superb Wabi-Sabi look. Due to its age, this basket shows signs of use, traces of treated woodworm (old) and a lovely patina. It is quite a fragile item, mainly used as a decorative element.
