Alain Blanchard, French ceramist, born in 1947. Originally from Nantes, he moved to Quimper in 1969, where he collaborated with the Kéraluc workshops. In 1972, he bought an old factory and created his own art ceramics workshop. His favorite themes of inspiration are animals: cat, owl, fish, bird... Here is an exceptional piece by this artist, dating from the late 1970s. Description. Table lamp. Oblong stoneware base with a glazed brown coating and slight darker drips. The lampshade is made of cardboard lined with a silky fabric in yellow/ocher/beige tones. Surrealist-inspired bird and fish motif. Signature engraved at the base of the base: ab. Dimensions. Total height: 40 cm. Base height: 20 cm. Base diameter: 6.5 cm. Shade diameter: 20 cm. Weight: 733 g. Condition: Everything is original. The socket is bayonet.
