CASAPUEBLO Original silkscreen print from 1990. Signed Carlos Paez Vilaró (1923-2013), an internationally renowned Uruguayan artist. Original frame, 70 x 52 cm. The artwork was originally mounted on thin cardboard and is in good condition, though the frame shows some wear. A very beautiful, large, colorful work. Handwritten signature, lower right, and dated '91. There is a dedication in felt-tip pen, now almost completely worn: "To the Delmon family." Carlos Páez Vilaró was born in Uruguay in 1923 in Montevideo and died on February 24, 2014, in Punta Ballena. He was a multifaceted artist: painter, ceramicist, sculptor, muralist, writer, composer, and architect. Casapueblo: Uruguayan hotel, art gallery, and museum. The Casapueblo Museum is the name given to a building constructed by the Uruguayan artist, located in Punta Ballena, 13 km from Punta del Este. Initially the artist's summer residence and studio, it became his permanent home, where he worked and remained until his death.
