Napoleon III style chandelier in gilded bronze 48.5cm

Superb Baroque candelabrum, 4 arms, five lights in finely chiselled gilded bronze, with rich ornamental decoration, in the Napoléon III style with strong Renaissance inspiration. This model features a majestic composition with multiple arms, resting on a particularly elaborate architectural base. The central shaft takes the form of a vase adorned with a female face in relief, surrounded by leafy scrolls. The handles are sculpted with fantastic creatures reminiscent of chimeras or stylised dolphins, typical of the neo-Renaissance decor of the 19th century. The base, highly elaborate, showcases a high-relief decoration with masks, urns, garlands, and scrolls, evoking the Renaissance aesthetic reinterpreted during the Second Empire. The whole piece offers beautiful chiselling work and a warm, aged patina. Nuanced patina, with some oxidation spots and rare traces of verdigris. Height 48.5cm. Width: 17.5cm. Depth 21cm.
