Gien Capucines Terre de fer flat plate

Very beautiful old flat plate in opaque terre de fer porcelain which comes from the gien factory. The stamp underneath allows it to be dated between 1886 and 1938. It is the capucines model which has a very fine and elegant blue floral decoration. It is in good general condition for its hundred years, but does not hide some marks which testify to its great age: a small chip on the upper face but not too visible because placed on the edge in the ornamental frieze, ecru stains or colorings, small chips barely visible on the edge, cracks and scratches on the enamel, a slight crack on the back, not through and which does not affect the solidity of the plate. To preserve it, it should no longer be used in the kitchen, but it will be perfect to complete a collection or to decorate a wall in accumulation with other old plates. It measures 23.5 cm in diameter.
