Giuseppe manfredi (seravezza lucca 1934 - montecatini terme pistoia 1987) oil on canvas depicting a marina, original signed and dated 1972. Painting size 70 X 50 - frame 98 X 78. For greater safety, the item is shipped without glass. Giuseppe manfredi's research focused precisely on the genre of still life and his pictorial style is linked to that of morandi. Like the great bolognese master, manfredi wants to capture on canvas the true essence of things (the noumenon) but he wants to do so without moving away from sensible reality (the phenomenon). For this reason, he carries out a profound process of reflection on objects in order to obtain their most vivid image. In this process, the painter is aided by the light that strikes the composition, which leads the artist to implement this process of reducing objects until their true essence remains. What remains is an almost diaphanous but extremely lively and mobile image, shaken by real existential (and luminous) vibrations. Another fundamental element is the formal perfection and balance of the composition that refer to the great tradition of italian painting. Giuseppe manfredi was born in serravezza di lucca in 1934 and died in montecatini in 1987. His pictorial production focuses mainly on the theme of still life, of which he created a large number of versions. His style is inspired by giorgio morandi for the same research on the essence of things, through the action of light.
