Description
Bauhaus 1950’s east german task lamp designed & made by curt fischer for the midgard licht gmbh. Midgard was founded in 1919 by the engineer curt fischer. A lamp manufacturer who has been producing these lamps in germany to date. Midgard constructed the first articulated "steering lamps", these lamps were a true innovation at the beginning of the 20th century. This lamp is originally made as a wall mountable lamp. We have mounted the lamp on a heavy base to be used as a table or desk lamp. Removing it from the base & mounting to the wall is simply done by just removing the mounting screws. Completely rewired & tested ready to go. Height ( fully stretched ) 82cm, width ( shade ) 14cm, width ( base ) 17cm X 20cm. You are more than welcome to purchase this item in person & pick it up from our london based workshop. Many of the items we have for sale are all from what we refer to as " real life ", they were all made for use & purpose. There will always be signs of use & aging which we think gives each item its individuality & personal charm. We clean & repair but we always try our best to keep everything in its original state. We will always give you a good idea of condition & especially highlight anything that we consider may have aesthetic or structural concern.
