Danish Teak Extendable Coffee Table Model PJ 56B by Grete Jalk, 1960s

The Model PJ 56B coffee table is an iconic piece of mid-century furniture designed by Grete Jalk for the Danish manufacturer P. Jeppesen during the 1960s. It is highly celebrated as a masterclass in Danish Modern functionalism. Length: 126/167 cm The table features a minimalist, sleek silhouette crafted from warm, honey-toned teak wood. Its most defining feature is a drop-leaf extension topped with original black Formica. This design creates a durable, heat- and moisture-resistant surface (often called a "worry-free zone") that allows users to place hot tea or sweating cocktail glasses down without needing a coaster.
