Set of 4 chairs by J.O. Waldar & V. Möldhammer for Sonett Karl Fostel

Rare set of 4 black lacquered metal chairs created by the Austrian designer duo J.O. Wladar and V. Mödlhammer for Sonett Karl Fostel (1950s, Austria). The chair, known as Auersberg, was designed in Vienna by Sonett Karl Fostel. Characterised by its distinctive wire structure, the backrest unfolds into a graceful fan arrangement of slender vertical steel rods that taper towards the seat. The lacquered steel structure forms angular, geometric hairpin legs that emphasise balance and visual tension, contrasting with the yellow and green colours of the faux leather seats (slightly different shades), giving a certain visual lightness to the whole. Very rare lot in very good condition (small snag on the faux leather to note). Dimensions: W 48 cm. H 83 cm. D 52 cm. Seat height 46 cm.
