Charming pair of small floral oils from the early 20th century, presented in their original frames with an old grey patina under glass, in a delicate diptych format. The compositions, painted on wood and then mounted on panel, charm with their soft and powdery palette as well as their naive and poetic freshness. The whole exudes a very authentic charm, typical of small painted souvenirs from the first half of the 20th century. On the reverse is a handwritten note: "Souvenir de la St Jean à St Pierre – made and offered by Jean Le Flaouter, " adding an intimate and personal dimension to these works that is particularly touching. Jean Le Flaouter (1914-2002) was a Breton painter and illustrator whose work is rooted in the tradition of poetic realism and pictorial regionalism of the 20th century. His work, deeply anchored in the culture and landscapes of Brittany, combines daily observation with luminous sensitivity. The old frames exhibit a beautiful original patina preserved in their natural state, fully contributing to the decorative and vintage character of the whole. A collection full of poetry, ideal for a charming decor, chic country style, or a refined brocante spirit interior. Signs of wear and use. Frame dimensions L40.30 X H26.50 P2.40.
