Paul-Auguste Gagné (1824-1878). Patinated bronze lamp signed.

Paul-Auguste Gagné (1824-1878). Patinated bronze lamp signed. Tripod base with lion's claws, typical of his productions from the Napoleonic III era. It is topped with very intricately cut acanthus leaves and scrolls. The shaft is stylized, with stems rising from stylized leaf motifs at the base, ending in small buttons, plant bulbs. The characteristic work of bronze from the period is evident, combining finely chiseled gilded bronze reliefs with darker, patinated recesses to enhance the depth of the motifs. In beautiful condition.
