Old hand-painted and signed plate depicting a cockfight.

A vintage decorative plate made of hand-painted earthenware, featuring a dynamic scene of fighting roosters, suitable for hanging on the wall or displaying on a sideboard. The two roosters are depicted mid-flight, wings spread and legs forward, while feathers and leaves swirl around them. The artist has intricately worked each feather in shades of brown, ochre, orange, and red, and the composition, very airy against the matte cream background, evokes the style of Asian prints. The scalloped edge gently complements this lively decor. On the back, the plate bears the handwritten inscription "Made and painted by hand, " the signature "JR, " and a molded relief monogram, all marks of a handcrafted workshop. A characterful piece from the past that will naturally fit into a country home decor or a collection of wall plates. Overall good condition with some small chips and slight marks on the edge, as well as signs of surface wear.
