Small antique side table in wrought iron and patinated wood – 1930s/40s

Very pretty little antique table from the 1930s/1940s, full of charm and character. It rests on an elegant wrought iron base, composed of four curved legs punctuated with decorative rings and connected by beautiful arched supports. The iron also retains the marks and patina acquired over time. Its round top, made of several wooden slats, is particularly attractive due to its superb old patina: deep red, old pink, greyish hues, and exposed wood reveal themselves through the various naturally worn layers. This authentic patina has been deliberately preserved. The top has simply been cleaned and then waxed to nourish and protect the wood, without stripping or repainting. The wear, paint losses, irregularities, and traces of time are an integral part of its charm and give it a very graphic, almost pictorial appearance today. With its small size, it can be used as a side table, end table, bedside table, or plant stand. A lovely antique piece that also works particularly well in contrast within a contemporary interior.
