Strehla ceramic vase no. 1250, made in East Germany (GDR) in the 1970s. A beautiful emblematic piece of East European ceramic production from this period, now recognised for its sculptural character and strong decorative identity. The vase features a so-called “flat lava” glaze in matte grey tones, with a rich and slightly irregular texture that gives it a very lively appearance. The body is rhythmically adorned with organic vertical reliefs reminiscent of stylised stems or reeds, adding a true sculptural dimension to the whole. The upper part opens slightly and is punctuated by oval glazed details in warm orange tones, creating a subtle yet highly decorative contrast with the mineral grey of the body. Very decorative on its own, it easily finds its place on a console, shelf, or coffee table. It works perfectly in a contemporary, wabi-sabi, or brutalist interior, where raw materials and textures are highlighted. An authentic piece full of character for lovers of vintage ceramics and 1970s European design. H. 21 cm × Ø 12 cm. Condition: Very good vintage condition, with slight signs of wear consistent with age and handmade production.
