Vintage extendable oak dining table / Drop-leaf table – 1950s–1970s, France

This vintage oak dining table, originating from France and dating from around 1950 to 1970, combines traditional design with practical and versatile construction. Made of oak, the table features a round top with two drop leaves and six turned wooden legs adorned with fluting and rounded details, giving it a classic French country appearance. The top has a warm brown colour, with visible oak grain, natural tone variations, and an attractive wood pattern. The rounded edges are finished with a decorative moulded profile. One of the main features of this table is its extendable construction: the two drop leaves can be folded down to save space, while the wooden extension mechanism allows for the addition of one, two, or three oak leaves. This enables the table to adapt to different configurations, from a compact round table to a large oval table measuring 260 cm in length. The extension mechanism consists of sliding wooden rails, visible when the table is extended. The six turned legs ensure stability in all configurations. With the three extensions, the table can accommodate up to 12 people, making it ideal for both everyday meals and large gatherings. Its traditional design, natural oak finish, and flexible dimensions make it perfect for a country kitchen, dining room, or farmhouse interior. Dimensions. Round configuration. Diameter: 128 cm.
