A pair of rare, decorative wall lights by Helena Tynell, Scandinavian/Finnish Modern mid-1900s. Glass with beautiful bubble shapes in golden colored glass. Wood and brass holders with Art Deco style. These are true collectable and interior decor gems. They were found in an home in Värmland, Sweden. One previous owner. About the artist: Helena Tynell, bord Turpeinen 1918 in Äänekoski, died 18 Januari 2016 in Tusby. A finnish designer, mainly know for her beautiful glass shades and lights. She finished crafts/design school in Helsingfors, 1943. She worked with ceramics for Arabia 1943–1946 as well as light design for Taito Oy at the same time. She was one of the mos prominent designers at Riihimäen Lasi between 1946 and 1976. Freelance work for Flygsfors glasbruk (Sweden), Bega Leuchten (Germany), Glashütte Limburg (Germany) and Fostoria Glass (USA). Her and her husband Paavo Tynell are still today two of the most reowned lamp desigers in the world and their lamps are collectables and functional artworks. Her work is represented at Nationalmusem in Stockholm.
