Large Italian modernist ceramic bowl from the 60s/70s.

This large glazed ceramic centrepiece bowl is straight out of Italy from the 1960s/70s. It has a long, elongated shuttle shape, tapered and raised at the ends, dressed in a bright vermilion orange, bordered by a wide chocolate brown frieze with repetitive geometric patterns. The glossy glaze, the geometric decoration worked into the material, and this terribly sixties palette show strong similarities to the productions of Aldo Londi for Bitossi in the 1960s. Marked “ITALY 7115” on the underside, it remains unattributed to this day, although it undeniably possesses the aesthetic vocabulary of these beautiful transalpine productions. With its length of 38.5 cm, it is not a small trinket dish but a true centrepiece. It is in perfect condition. Height: 10 cm. Length: 38.5 cm. Width: 19 cm.
