Gufram Nordic Pratone Limited Edition 8/50 Italy 1971/2016

Iconic Pratone chair, designed by Giorgio Ceretti, Pietro Derossi and Ricardo Rosso in 1971 for Gufram Italy. It is marked and the original certificate of authenticity is with it. This Nordic version in white was edited in a limited edition of only 50 pieces (this one is nr 8/50) in 2016, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Gufram. It is made of soft polyurethane and finished by hand with the patented Guflac finish. In 1972, the Pratone gained recognition as an avant-garde design when featured on the cover of the prestigious “Italy: The New Domestic Landscape” catalog at MoMA, New York. It was celebrated as one of the hundred greatest design masterpieces, now in the collection of major museums worldwide. This significant piece of Italian Radical Design blurs the lines between natural and artificial creating a relaxing oasis through its giant, grass-like stems. Its surreal form and playful design challenge traditional furniture norms. It is in very good condition, only minimal traces of wear.
