Set of four sculptural pine dining chairs – 1970s
A distinctive set of four sturdy dining chairs from the 1970s, made of solid pine. The chairs have a pronounced, almost architectural design. The backrests in particular stand out, with their large keyhole-shaped cut-outs and softly rounded tops. Over the years the pine has acquired a warm honey-coloured patina. The visible grain, colour variations and signs of use give each chair its own character. The wide solid wooden seat and splayed legs make the chairs look sturdy without appearing heavy or clumsy. The design recalls traditional furniture from the Alpine region, with the robust, sober character of brutalism. Lovely around a simple wooden, natural stone or limestone table, but also as a contrast in a sleek interior. Good vintage condition, sturdy and ready to use. Normal signs of age and use, including local colour variations, minor damage and wear to the wood.
