Vintage alabaster box Alabastros Alvear – Bottle shape

An astonishing alabaster box resembling a bottle. With its curvy silhouette and long lid topped with a ball, this vintage box initially looks like an elegant perfume bottle. However, once opened, it reveals a small container carved from stone: an object that is both decorative and unusual. Alabastros Alvear, a Spanish manufacture. Underneath the box, its original label is still present and reads "Alabastros ALVEAR S.I. – Ref. 607". This identifies the piece as a product of the Spanish Alvear, which specialises in decorative alabaster objects. Its slightly shaded cream-white stone and glossy finish particularly highlight the generous shapes of the object. A beautiful vintage decorative piece. Weighing over a kilogram and standing at only 19 cm tall, this box has a remarkable presence.
