A Danish extendable dining table from the 1970s, representing the mature phase of Scandinavian modernism. Clean lines meet thoughtful functionality — the defining quality that secured Danish furniture design its lasting place in design history. The construction pairs a teak-veneered top with four solid wood legs that taper elegantly toward the floor, lending the piece a visual lightness characteristic of Danish dining furniture. Concealed within the tabletop is an extension mechanism complete with a built-in compartment for storing the additional leaves. When deployed, these inserts nearly double the surface area. This integrated storage solution keeps the extension pieces within the table itself, eliminating the need for separate storage. In its compact configuration, the table comfortably seats two to three people for everyday meals. Extended to nearly one hundred sixty centimetres, it accommodates family gatherings or dinner parties with ease. The depth of the top allows ample space for place settings without crowding. Condition is good. The tabletop shows minor scratches and small chips consistent with decades of use. Small losses have been filled during conservation. The more noticeable traces of use are also documented in the photographs, so that the actual state of preservation is conveyed as faithfully as possible.
