Antique Gilded Mirror with Pediment - Napoleon III Style (116 X 71 cm) For sale is a magnificent large antique gilded mirror with a pediment, in the Napoleon III / Rocaille style. It is a character piece, very decorative, ideal for dressing a mantelpiece, an entrance, or visually enlarging a living room thanks to its beautiful height. * Dimensions: Height 116 cm X Width 71 cm. * Thickness: 3.5 cm. * Frame richly adorned with floral motifs and a superbly crafted upper pediment (acanthus leaves and scrolls). * Gilded (beautiful patina). Condition: The frame is in generally good condition and solid. The glass is original and shows signs of oxidation ("pitting") in places (see photos). These marks of time attest to its age and give it all the charm and authenticity of period mirrors. However, they do not detract from the visual appeal.
