Office table 19th century / central island

Sublime and rare 19th-century office table, fully restored while intentionally preserving its marks of time, featuring an exceptional solid wood top marked by use, a curved base with wide feet, and large storage drawers. Ideal as a central kitchen island, a counter in a shop, a guesthouse, or a work table. It will be perfect as a large work surface, and stools can be tucked underneath. One of its unique features is one of its drawers with a gridded and ventilated bottom, suggesting use for storing items like bread or foods that require ventilation. Completely stripped, sanded with fine grain for a uniform and soft touch finish. Carefully treated, the damaged parts have been reinforced with wood hardener and are sound despite the presence of old woodworm holes. It has been cleaned in every nook and cranny. The marked top retains traces of its former life and past repairs that add to its charm. The top is protected by a hard base and two coats of high-quality oil (Blanchon) that preserve the raw appearance of the wood, suitable for food use. Dimensions: L 186 cm. D 77 cm. Total H 80 cm.
