For your information, founded in 1586 in the Münzthal valley in Moselle, by letters patent from King Louis XV, known as the Beloved (1710-1774), it took the name "Verrerie Royale de Saint Louis" and quickly became a flagship of the French economy. In 1781, with the discovery of the composition of crystal by Mr. De Beaufort, former director of the factory, it adopted the name Cristallerie. At that time, only England mastered the formula for lead crystal. Its production would be exclusively crystal from 1825. In 1834, the Cristallerie Saint Louis created the Trianon service, thus introducing the concept of Table Art through the use of several glasses according to their purpose. Since then, many services have been created, including Tommy to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the First World War in honour of English soldiers. Production is mainly for Table Arts, decoration, lighting, and furniture pieces in crystal by master glassmakers who have received approximately 10 years of training. Today, Saint Louis belongs to the Hermès group.
