Louis XVI style minister's desk in oak

Oak desk, with a mitred frame above, upholstered in brown leather. The front consists of 4 drawers (2 on the left, 1 in the centre, and 1 with double fronts on the right). Each opens and closes with a lock, of which 1 key only serves as a button (the bottom left drawer opens with a key that does not lock it...). The rest of the apron is simple. The whole rests on four turned spindle legs, with the central part featuring stopped fluting. The sides of the drawers and the bottom are solid wood. A beautiful piece crafted in the Louis XVI style. Height 70cm (legroom 58cm) x length 139cm x depth 69cm. Some signs of age and use. Usable as is or a lovely base for restoration.
