A rare mid-century dining table made of teak wood, designed by Kurt Østervig for Jason Möbler. The oval top has a beautiful wood grain and is supported by four carefully carved legs, with two matching hinged folding legs. Each leaf extension is connected via hinged so-called knuckle joints. In used, but immediately usable and neat condition, the table has a patina that matches the age and purpose of use, which can be viewed in more detail in the photos. Danish, circa 1960. This special folding table features an impressive and unusual base of six V-shaped legs, made with exceptional craftsmanship and designed by Kurt Østervig for Jason Möbler in Denmark. The legs at both ends can be rotated, allowing the ends of the top to fold down vertically. The wooden hinged legs are beautiful and are a subtle detail that comes from the functional design of the folding table. Within seconds, the well-proportioned dining table transforms into a refined and elegant center table—a unique and well-executed feature of this breathtaking piece.
