Pair of green lacquered tubular metal bedside tables, made in the 1950s. Their clean, functional design, without superfluous ornamentation, evokes the bauhaus aesthetic, with a curved tube structure and two folded sheet metal tops. The whole reflects a search for simplicity and efficiency specific to post-war modernist furniture. The original paint shows some chips and signs of use, without affecting the stability or solidity of the pieces.
