School poster from the 1950s - 1960s: REPRODUCTION OF THE ORIGINAL FERN, from the AUZOUX series illustrated by P. SOUGY. On heavy canvas paper rolled, measuring 98cm wide X 1.30m long with wooden strips at the top and bottom, wall suspension system. Excellent condition. The descendants of the naturalist Doctor Louis Thomas Jérôme Auzoux (1797-1880) published a series of educational posters in the 1940s to 1960s for biology and human or veterinary physiology courses in schools and universities. Paul Sougy, curator of the Natural History Museum of Orléans and illustrator, was responsible for their design. He employed a style of coloured chalk on a blackboard. Packed weight 2kg.
