This drop-leaf secretary embodies the best of Nordic design from the 1950s-1960s: clean lines, warm wood, and functionality considered down to the details. A piece of character that is as discreet as it is effective, as beautiful when closed as when open. Materials: oak veneer with a particularly regular and bright grain. Tapered legs in solid beech. Original brushed brass handles, slightly patinated. Features: this mid-century secretary consists of a drop-leaf that opens to reveal a generous work surface, supported by two brushed brass metal brackets. The interior reveals a neat organisation: a row of curved-cut dividers for mail and documents, accompanied by two small storage niches and a drawer. The lower part opens with two doors concealing a free storage space. The whole rests on four tapered legs, an essential signature of mid-century Scandinavian style. The key for the drop-leaf is not original and does not lock. Renovation: the secretary has been sanded on the outside and then carefully washed before being protected with a clear varnish that highlights the warm honey colour of its wood. Condition: in superb condition, this vintage secretary has undergone an old repair, which is almost invisible (a screw is visible on the lower right part of the piece). There is also a burn mark on the right side inside the drop-leaf. Dimensions: L84 X D40 X H118. Depth when open: 74. Lower cupboard: L79 X D37 X H48. Upper part: L80 X H44.
