Important Art Nouveau sideboard – Mercier Frères Paris – Mahogany, marble and mirrors – Circa 1900. A very elegant and significant Art Nouveau sideboard, made by the famous Parisian house Mercier Frères, whose original plaque is still present inside the piece. Crafted from beautiful warm-toned mahogany, this piece features particularly original and elegant architecture, characteristic of creations from the 1900 period. The lower section opens with two large doors with sculpted panels featuring typically Art Nouveau curved and botanical lines. These reveal a spacious storage area fitted with a shelf. Above are two drawers, equipped with original decorative handles combining wood and metal. The lock entries and brass fittings harmoniously complete the ensemble. The sideboard is topped with a light marble slab with strong veining, providing a beautiful presentation surface. The upper part is particularly decorative with a large background mirror, framed by a wooden structure with soft lines. The sides are also adorned with mirrors, enhancing the brightness and depth of the piece. On either side, several rounded and tiered shelves extend, allowing for the display of decorative objects, glassware, or porcelain. The entire piece is supported by tall, slightly curved uprights that elegantly extend the vertical lines of the furniture. The presence of the plaque "Ameublements de Style – Mercier Frères – Paris" is a particularly interesting element and allows this sideboard to be attributed to this important Parisian furniture house.
