Sarreguemines large oval dish Obernai the snowball fight H. Loux

This very large antique dish comes from the Sarreguemines factory. It is an oval dish of considerable size for presenting generous Alsatian dishes, such as choucroute garnie, Alsatian salads, and large quantities of potato pancakes. The dish is adorned with a snowball fight: in a decor of a snow-covered Alsatian village, one discovers a group of 15 characters, young women in traditional attire and men in Alsatian costumes, engaged in a wonderful snowball fight. It belongs to the Obernai service, whose screen-printed designs were painted by Henri Loux in the early 20th century. The edge of the dish is scalloped and decorated with 4 bouquets of flowers. In good condition, it measures 58 cm X 24 cm. It bears the mark "Obernai - Faïencerie Sarreguemines - France". Notably, there are signs of use and a hairline crack.
