Painted ceramic candlestick – Deruta

Superb glazed ceramic candlestick, richly decorated with polychrome floral and arabesque motifs, in the grand tradition of Italian ceramics from Deruta. Its elegant shape, with an elongated spout, handle, and pedestal, makes it a very decorative piece. The decoration is hand-painted, featuring beautiful bright colours (blue, yellow, green, ochre, red). In the centre, a circular holder accommodates a candle. Beneath the base is the signature “Mari C – Deruta – Italy – 79”, indicating an artisanal Italian production, most likely from the late 1970s.
