Elegant pair of large French wall sconces with two light arms, featuring a vegetal decoration of branches, foliage, and flowers in gilded and patinated metal. According to the information provided during their previous auction, this pair was acquired in Paris at Maison Baguès in 1966 by the parents of the previous owners. No markings or labels are visible on the sconces; the attribution to Maison Baguès is therefore indicated in accordance with this provenance. The very elongated decoration combines long leafy stems, stylised flowers, and two curved light arms. The old patina and shades of gilding give a lot of character to the whole piece. Period: 1960s, circa 1966. Origin: France. Materials: gilded and patinated metal. Lighting: 2 lights per sconce. In beautiful vintage condition with wear to the gilding, signs of age, and slight oxidation consistent with its age. Old electrical wiring retained. Sold only as a pair.
